GoDaddy Email email configuration guide
GoDaddy Professional Email: Forwarding breaks SPF or DMARC
A forwarder sends from a new IP, so SPF can fail even when the original sender was authorized. An intact, aligned DKIM signature can still let DMARC pass.
A provider configuration symptom may look like:
DMARC forwarding effects after a provider configuration change.
Diagnose the forwarded copy
Compare the original and forwarded headers. Check whether SPF changed to fail, whether DKIM still passes, and whether the final receiver reports DMARC pass or fail.
How to reduce failures
- Make sure GoDaddy mail has aligned DKIM before forwarding.
- Avoid forwarders that modify signed headers or message bodies.
- Do not authorize the forwarder’s IP in the original sender’s SPF record.
- If you control the forwarder, evaluate SRS and ARC support.
MailFixIt boundary
MailFixIt can inspect reported headers and public records, but cannot reproduce every forwarding hop.
Frequently asked questions
What does MailFixIt check for GoDaddy Email?
It helps compare public DNS evidence with the provider setup path. It does not access the provider account or claim that a DNS result alone proves sending or receiving.
Should I replace all existing DNS records with provider values?
No. Confirm the exact record owner and type, preserve unrelated legitimate services, and change only the record required for the intended mail route.
