GoDaddy Professional Email: Verify custom domain DNS
GoDaddy Professional Email can receive mail only when the domain points to the records shown under Set Mail Destination. Compare that exact account view with public DNS.
A provider configuration symptom may look like:
Custom domain verification after a provider configuration change.
Get the expected records
In GoDaddy’s Email and Office Dashboard, open the mailbox, choose Manage, then Set Mail Destination. Copy the record name, type, priority, and target exactly. Account-specific records shown there take priority over examples from another domain.
Evidence to collect
- The exact domain configured for the mailbox.
- Every MX record and its priority.
- The SPF TXT record and any account-specific verification record.
- The current public DNS answer and DNS provider.
Safe correction sequence
Remove old MX records only after confirming that GoDaddy Professional Email is the intended receiver. Publish the exact required set, keep unrelated website records, wait for public DNS, then use Recheck DNS in the dashboard.
MailFixIt boundary
MailFixIt can compare public DNS. It cannot see the private dashboard or activate the mailbox.
Frequently asked questions
What does MailFixIt check for GoDaddy Email?
It helps compare public DNS evidence with the provider setup path. It does not access the provider account or claim that a DNS result alone proves sending or receiving.
Should I replace all existing DNS records with provider values?
No. Confirm the exact record owner and type, preserve unrelated legitimate services, and change only the record required for the intended mail route.
